DOCSIS Security

The Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification, commonly known as DOCSIS and developed by CableLabs, is a telecomunications standard used to provide high-speed internet access via cable television systems. As the backbone of many internet service providers (ISPs), DOCSIS plays a crucial role in delivering reliable and fast internet to millions of homes and businesses worldwide. PKI is a critical component of DOCSIS security, enabling mutual authentication between the cable modems and cable modem termination systems (CMTS). By leveraging digital certificates and public-private key pairs, PKI ensures that only authorized devices can access the network.
